GREAT NEWS – BEST STEAK IN JOHANNESBURG – THE GRILLHOUSE OPENS A NEW STORE IN MELROSE ARCH
The Grillhouse opened a new store at in Melrose Arch in the previously called Grand Centrals’ store. The Grillhouse is an award winner for the past 5 years and received a rating of three sstarsfrom “The Rossouw’s Restaurants”. They also have stores in Sandton, Rosebank and at Katzy’z.
Their steak is simply mouthwatering delicious and heaven to a meat lover like myself. The Grillhouse is Johannesburg’s most loved and well-established premium steakhouse. Established in 1995, The Grillhouse offers the perfect quadfecta in dining – great food, a huge selection of fine wines and malts, stellar service and an upmarket yet warm and hospitable atmosphere.
Start off your evening with a biltong bucket, some oysters or the Springbok carpaccio and then move on to your favourite cut of beef, lamb cutlets or even some Ostrich Medallions – pepper-crusted or with Madagascar sauce. Couple that with different sauces or some of their amazing side dishes of which creamed spinach is just always my hearty favourite.
Their steak prices are so affordable starting from R159.
The menu is vast and caters for all tastes apart from the King Of Meals – alias steak. The menu hosts salads, vegetarian meals, poultry and of course another fave of mine, food from the sea. In my life that goes well with steak! I can HAVE both worlds if I want!
Their wine and malt menu, cognacs, whiskeys, champagne and beers give you a great choice selection to go with your meal and afterwards coupled with their legendary brownies.
Finger licking platters also deserve their place on the menu. They also have set menus to choose from which is a bonus!
ANOTHER GREAT STREAK HOUSE IS LOCAL GRILL IN PARKTOWN NORTH
Following strict “field to fork” principles means that their beef is sourced from the best producers they can find, aged on the premises and cut to order.
This collaboration with beef producers has meant that over the years they have been able to showcase different breeds, beef from different regions and improve the offering year on year.
The kitchen tours offered in Parktown North (interesting…) have further resulted in new relationships with farmers from as far afield as Brazil and throughout Africa.
BEEF APPRECIATION DINING ROOM – WHAT A JOURNEY AND EXPERIENCE
Then they have a unique experience on offer called BEEF APPRECIATION. At R550 per person 8 – 12 guests are seated in a private dining room where you are served some of the grill favourites as starters where after you are invited to the demo kitchen to receive an introduction to beef, do comparative beef tasting of different cuts and using Weber Grills, cooking is demonstrated on Himalayan salt and oak staves. This amazing journey ends off with desserts & coffee.
